ANZAC: Flander's Fields - our version

Some of our reading groups spent time this week learning the famous ANZAC poem, "In Flander's Fields". Almost all of us know the first verse, and a few of us even know the whole poem from memory! We enjoyed our mini ANZAC inquiry this week.

Caught Being Good: Zion-Li

Congratulations Zion-Li, you were our Caught Being Good winner at Puriri assembly this week. You are a great learner because you have worked hard to improve your listening and thinking skills.

WELL DONE also to Room 6, who 'hosted' Puriri assembly. We all shared our favourite learning area, and something that we have learnt at school this term. We loved speaking with a microphone to the rest of our team!!

School Certificate: Theoden

Well done Theoden, you have been spotted being an awesome helper to your fellow learners. You know when they need help in the class, and you are always on the lookout for times when someone needs an encouraging word. Nice one!

Our Super Helper - Paula

Room Six is super lucky to have an awesome volunteer who works with our different reading groups for 2 hours EVERY week.

Paula is a great listener and helper with our children, and she has taken time to get to know all of the class. She was also the inspiration behind our screen printing during Green Week this year.

We look forward to working with you through 2017 Paula!

Caught Being Good: Arlo

Nice one Arlo - our school focus right now is "Great Learners" - you are a great learner because you respect the opinions of others, and you have been practising using the word "because" to justify your own opinions. Ka pai - great work.

Room 6's new goldfish

Room 6 has a new goldfish for our fish tank. On Friday, Bosston made a trip to the pet store at St Lukes, and picked us up a brand new fish to keep our current fish company.

We love caring for our pet fish - we feed them every morning, and we have to clean their tank every two weeks!
