Samoan Language Week 2021

Room 19 celebrated Samoan Language Week during week 5.

We learnt a siva dance, explored traditional Samoan items such as lavalava, coconut husk and its many uses, shell necklaces, and a beautiful siapo mat.

Our friend Hamida shared some delicious panikeke with us. We played the game "lape".

In the afternoon, we visited our buddy class (Room 6) and made some awesome, creative Samoan tuiga.

Our Poem for Winter

Room 19 wrote this amazing poem with Ms Whysall, on a cold and rainy Monday in term two. Thanks Ms Whysall for the inspiration!
