Term 3 DISCO Day!

Happy Disco Day from Room 19! We enjoyed dressing up in LOUD clothes, to show our support for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Special congratulations to Liberty (best dressed Puriri girl), and Ina (best girl dancer), you made your Room 19 classmates very proud!

Caught Being Good - Byesion

Well done Byesion, you have been an awesome role model with your learning lately - always looking for ways to challenge yourself in class.

You have learnt lots about place value in maths, this will help with your problem solving for the rest of 2019!

Get ready for LOUD shirt day

The theme for our end of term discos is Loud Shirt Day.  Loud Shirt Day is an annual event held every September, and is all about getting loud and raising funds to help deaf children learn to listen and speak.  Money raised for Loud Shirt Day goes to The Hearing House and the Southern Cochlear Implant Programme so that deaf and hearing-impaired children get the therapy they need to listen and speak like hearing kids.

Owairaka would like to encourage everyone to start thinking about what bright coloured clothing they could wear to our end of term Loud Shirt Day Discos.  We ask that everyone brings a coin donation for the Loud Shirt Charity. Donations will be collected on Disco Day - Friday 27 September (the last day of Term 3).

Tongan Language Week

Room 19 celebrated Tongan Language Week by reading stories with some Tongan characters and themes.
