Swimming with Life Jackets

As part of our final week of swimming lessons, we learnt some valuable floating and survival skills while wearing a lifejacket. We learnt why lifejackets are important, and also how to make sure that we are wearing them properly.

Congratulations to Levi and Jessica, our first two certificate winners at our Puriri assembly. Jessica has been a great role model for the new learners in Room 19, and Levi has shown great thinking and listening skills during maths problem solving.

Swim Lessons with Swimsation

Room 19 and the rest of the Puriri team (Years 3-4) are having swimming lessons every day for the next two weeks. We are learning lots about floating, diving, kicking and stroking.

School Certificate - Castiel

Castiel was our first school certificate winner of 2019.

Following the excitement of the meteor landing on our school grounds earlier in the week, we decided on 10 things we would take with us, should we ever have to leave Earth!

Castiel turned on his creative brain and had some awesome ideas.

Enjoying our School Pool

Check out a few photos of Room 19 cooling off in our school pool. We are visiting the pool as much as we can, and we are learning some great freestyle, backstroke, and floating skills.

We are excited to meet our swimming instructors next week, who will be visiting us every day during weeks 3 and 4.

Remember to bring togs and a towel, (and goggles if you have them), to school EVERY DAY!
