Ka mau te wehi, Tamati. You were our Caught Being Good winner this week, you have been challenging yourself in maths, AND more importantly, you know that it is okay to ask for help. This is a great way to show you are really thinking about your learning. Nice one!

Look at all the fruit stickers
Yesterday at Garden to Table, Libby noticed all the fruit stickers in our garden soil.
We realised they got there because they are going into the green bins at our school, and when the food waste breaks down, the stickers don't.
Look how many stickers we collected in 2 minutes from one area in our school!
Our first Garden to Table lesson
During term three, some of the Puriri team are participating in weekly Garden to Table (G2T) lessons.
Half the class works in the garden, while the other half works in the kitchen to prepare a delicious meal to share together.
This week, we enjoyed pumpkin salad, green bean pesto dip, and homemade crackers.
We are lucky to have volunteer adult help in the kitchen, but we always need more! If you are available to help on Wednesdays (times rotate 3 weekly), then please have a chat to Mr Lyons.

Matariki Screenprinting with our friend Paula
Thank you to our super creative volunteer artist, Paula, who came in during Matariki to help us with an awesome screen printing activity.
We had to choose stars or fishes (or both!), as well as two different colours of paint, to complete our artwork. We had read a lot of Matariki legends during the week, and this was a really fun way to finish our Matariki learning.
Thanks Paula!

Our Fruit Sticker Collection
This term, children in Room 19 have saved over 450!! fruit stickers from going into our school worm farm.
Well done all, you are great Kaitiaki of our school, this is a really good way of caring for the environment around you.
Caught Being Good - Chelsy
Well done Chelsy (again!) for being a great friend and learning buddy in class. You were especially helpful when we had our student teacher, Ms Haydn, in Room 19. You made her feel really welcome in our class.
Rugby League lessons in Room 19
Thank you to Auckland Rugby League, who gave us a great introduction lesson last week to some of the skills needed to play the game.

A visit from the Fishery Officers
Thank you J'Varn, who organised for her auntie Aari, a NZ Fisheries Officer, to come and talk to Room 19.
We learnt all about the role of the officers, and some of the things they do to keep our sea life (fish and shellfish) at the right amounts, so we can all enjoy in the future.
Room 19 has a lot of keen Junior Fisheries Officers keen to share their knowledge!
