Puriri Assembly - Sinan and Olly are awesome!

Many children were involved in Parent-Teacher discussions in Week 11.

It was awesome to see our Room Six learners actively listening to and participating in chats about how the year has gone so far, and what things would make the rest of 2016 a successful year for them.

Special congratulations to Oliver, who spoke confidently about his learning and activities at school so far this year, and to Sinan, who, has set goals to make the most of his learning time and already shown signs of carrying this out.

Thanks for all your involvement in the chats Room Six, I can't wait to see you all back in term two.

Duffy Role Model - April 11 2016

Yesterday was a special day at Owairaka. Tarsh from Flava Radio and the NZ Warriors came to speak to us about the importance of READING from an early age. She spoke to us about how important reading has been in her life and career.

Thanks Tarsh for sharing your time with us. It was very special for Room 6.

CONGRATULATIONS also to Ava (Room 6), who along with Berlin and Ketula (R23), performed the Duffy Song for the whole school. You all sang and moved beautifully! More great role models.

Ronan and the Golden Certificate

Room 6 celebrated with Ronan this Friday after he took the coveted yellow certificate away from school assembly. Ronan has shown his great manners through term one, and is great at getting along with all his fellow room 6 learners.

Keep it up Ronan, we love having you as a great role model in our class.

Puriri Little Splash - April 1st 2016

The first annual Puriri Splash. What a cool event.

Congratulations to all the Room 6 children who participated and competed.

Well done to the children who supported all of the Year 3/4 children to get in and give it a go!

YES the water was cold, but that didn't stop heaps of fun and competition being had.

Here are some of the photos of Room 6 on the day!

Ollie Olympian

On Sunday, Ollie competed in the Weetbix Kids Try-athlon at Whangaparoa. It was heaps of fun, and very challenging. Ollie proudly wore his shirt and medal, and talked to Room 6 about what it was like to compete. Nice one Ollie - see you at the 2028 Olympics!!

Lexia Legends!

These seven Room 6 learners have been working hard to improve their reading skills, through a computer program called "Lexia". In term one, they have all made massive progress, and have been learning new skills and reading strategies every day!

Congratulations to Brandon, Questyn, Lucas, Fila, Ebony Mozart, and Ronan. Keep it up guys, can't wait to see you all complete your next level.
