R6 Green Week slideshow

Green Week Winner - Questyn

Room 6 had a great first Green Week in 2016. We wrote our own "wonderings", after we chose a topic out of:

- chickens
- bees
- worms
-plants,

and we then investigated the answers to our wonderings with like minded classmates.

We did a HUGE clean up on Thursday morning (post storm) to make our school grounds look beautiful again.

Questyn was our certificate winner at assembly, because of the awesome commitment he shows to caring for our class fish every morning. Our fish are spoilt to have such a thoughtful monitor Questyn, well done to you!

Race Relations Day 2016

Green Week Term 1 - reminder

Super Athlete - Joyce

During the week Joyce shared some news with the class. She came in second place at the Auckland Championship Athletics Competitions at Mt Smart in 2016.

This meant that she won a SILVER MEDAL for 8 year old girls. She also got to meet a very famous New Zealander, Valerie Adams.

Room Six will all be supporting Joyce at school athletics in term four!! Thanks for sharing Joyce, and well done from all of us.

What is a Growth Mindset?

Room 6 role model - Lujain

Lujain helps to create such an awesome environment for learning in Room 6. She knows when it is time to learn, and also knows when she can share a story, idea, or joke with the group. Well done on your efforts in class Lujain, keep it up.

Puriri certificates!!

Emacyn and Lucas are on time for learning every day. They have their book bags and learning resources ready to go, and have a great attitude to school. They also came to school super early on Thursday to help the teachers get set up and sell healthy sandwiches at Make and Take. Well done you two, awesome start to 2016.

Victor's writing about extraction day

Thanks to Ms Cramer for help with the publishing!

Batter, Bowler, Bruno!

Congratulations Bruno on an awesome cricket game for Grafton Elliott on the weekend!

Mini whiteboards #2

They asked really politely if they could have their whiteboard photos posted too!

Wednesday, 2 March 2016

Room 6 decided to use their mini whiteboards for fun in S.S.R this afternoon... they could draw whatever they wanted on them! See what Brandon, Emi, Joyce and Lujain came up with!

Brave Brandon and the Busy Bees

Brandon has made a great start to his learning year in Room 6. Because of this, he was invited to be part of our honey extraction in Week 4, along with some other lucky Puriri children.

Brandon helped us to get the frames out of the hive, clean the bees off them, and then remove the wax so we can spin the extractor and remove the honey to put into jars.

Thanks for your enthusiasm and effort Brandon, also for sharing your experience with the rest of Room 6. Hope you and nana enjoy the honey!

Check out our display in the school library... very cool!
